Differential Taxes for Differential Risks—Toward Reduced Harm from Nicotine-Yielding Products
Our Perspective in the New England Journal of Medicine calls for differential taxes on cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and other nicotine-yielding products based on their level of risk. Such a move could hasten reductions in cigarette use and, ultimately, the disease and deaths it causes.
