Tatiana Villacrés, Ph.D.(c), MA, MSc

Economist

Tatiana Villacres was the head of the Health Economics Department and later National Coordinator of the General Coordination of Strategic Development in the Ecuadorian Ministry of Public Health. Later, she became a consultant and researcher in different Health Economics projects. Since her work in the Ecuadorian government and later as a researcher and consultant, she has worked in tobacco taxes and health taxes research projects that were inputs for the tax reform in the country. Before joining the Economics for Health team, Tatiana was a consultant for the Economics for NCDs and Tobacco control teams at the Panamerican Health Organization. Additionally, she has been an undergraduate and graduate professor at Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador.

Tatiana Villacres received her BA in Economics from PUCE, MA in Economics from McMaster University, and MSc in Population and Development from the London School of Economics. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at McMaster University in the Health Economics field in the Health Policy Program.
