Mirjana Cizmovic, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Mediterranean University in Montenegro, where she teaches International Economy, Business Statistics, and Applied Quantitative Methods. She is also the Executive Director of the Institute of Socio-Economic Analysis.

In addition to her academic career, Dr. Cizmovic has worked as an economic consultant on government projects funded by the World Bank and as a financial analyst for initiatives supported by international organizations such as the EBRD, UNDP, and ILO. Since 2018, her research has focused extensively on tobacco taxation and control in Montenegro, expanding to the economics of alcohol taxation in 2023-2024.

She has held postdoctoral research positions at ISEM – The Higher Institute of Economics and Management in Nice, France, Università Politecnica delle Marche in Italy, and as a Fulbright postdoctoral researcher at the City College of New York. Her primary research interests include applied economics in international trade, tobacco taxation, and economic growth in developing countries.
