Health EconomistMr. Carlos Guerrero is an Economist on the Economics for Health team (formerly Tobacconomics) at the Johns Hopkins University. He has a master’s degree in Health Economics from the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico (INSP). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a specialization in Applied Statistics, and a specialization in Applied Econometrics by the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He completed the Global Tobacco Control Leadership Program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2009. He has worked as a researcher and professor at the INSP. Carlos has been public officer in strategic planning at the Mexican Institute of Social Security, Mexico’s largest healthcare provider and social security institute. He has also been consultant to public and private organizations in Mexico and in the United States. His research interests are focused on tobacco control, alcohol abuse, population nutrition, environmental health, impact evaluation of health interventions and fiscal policy, and rigid masculinities.
